Guangzhou, also known as "City of Rams", "City of Flowers", is the capital of Guangdong Province and a national central city. It covers an area of 7,434.4KM2 with over 10 million permanent residents. Pearl River, the mother river of Guangzhou winds through the city and it stands far away from Baiyun Mountain located in downtown Guangzhou. Both of them have witnessed the city's transformation over the past 2200 years from the starting port of "marine sick Road", the center of Lingnan culture ,a bitrhpeace of modem chinese revolotion to the forefront of China's reform and opening-up.

Subsequently, the 10th Asian Paralympics wtih the slogan of "we get together happily, We share and we come to a win-win situation" will also be held in this city from Decenber 12th to 19th,2010.
